Pink and Purple

Today we went to a birthday party for a little girl in our playgroup. She is turning 2 years old. It was actually a lot of fun. I never thought I would say that about a child's birthday party but they are old enough to do a lot of playing on their own so I could have some adult conversation. I met some new people, ate some cake and potato salad and a triangle of roast beef sandwich, was that too much? Oh yeah and I had a drink. When I was there it didn't seem like I ate a lot but now that I am writing it down it seems like I may have overindulged, Oh well.

This was the first time I had ever been in a house that belonged to a girl toddler.

Ok that is not entirely tru
e remember the people I mentioned before who are really giving they have two girls but I have never seen their toys all over the house. They mostly stay in their bedroom. The toys not the little girls.

T
he house had an air of pink and purple. It just happens naturally I guess. I have never looked around my house in that way but even though we don't conscientiously purchase things "for boys" there is no denying that a little boy lives here when you look around at the toys we have sitting around. The differences between boys and girls are natural we have never forced one thing or another on our son but still he loves cars and trains and the color green. The parents of the little girl whose birthday it was today are the exact opposite of girly but their daughter loves dresses and barbie dolls and everything pink.

0 your two cents:
